Conger Eel FishingThese are the real prehistoric monsters of the deep and you need to be fit to bring one of these on board. Once hooked they never stop fighting and with their ability to swim backwards they are formidable prey. Our supplier fishes for Conger when there is a weak tide and slack water. Some of the wrecks off Brighton hold monsters up to 80 lbs and our supplier knows exactly where they are. The method you will use to catch the conger eels is to anchor near a wreck and fish back into it using a running ledger rig with mackerel as bait not live. There will be a maximum of only 5 other anglers with you on the boat as youll be fishing with live bait and this gives plenty of space for everyone to enjoy the sport. If youre lucky enough to catch one, its normal practice to return the eel after weighing and photographs. Your rod, reel, end tackle and bait are also included in the price.
